What is Text2Give?

Text2Give is an SMS service that gives donors an easy way to initiate a one-time donation to their church by sending a text message to its dedicated phone number, +1 (877) 856-9659. Standard message and data rates may apply.

After each donation, the Text2Give subscriber will receive a confirmation reply and an email receipt.

A donor can give by texting the keyword GIVE and an amount.

Initial Setup

Upon texting the keyword GIVE and an amount to a dedicated Text2Give phone number for the first time, a donor will receive a one-time link to add a payment method for Text2Give, review the terms and conditions, and confirm the transaction online.

How Do I Update the Payment Method?

Visit your donor profile Text2Give page to add or change a payment method.

Who Operates This System?

This system is created and maintained by Planning Center. Text2Give is as part of the donation management product Planning Center Giving and is offered to all customer churches in the US.

How Much Does it Cost?

For Text2Give subscribers (the donors) standard message and data rates may apply. Please check with your mobile carrier for SMS policies and pricing. No purchase is necessary to use this service.

For Planning Center Giving subscribers (the church), there is no additional cost associated with donations initiated by Text2Give other than the $5 per month incurred for the dedicated phone number. Standard payment processing fees and standard product pricing applies – just as they would with any donation processed through Planning Center Giving.

Terms and Privacy Policy

The use of Text2Give, Planning Center, and ChurchCenter.com are subject to the standard Terms of Service, General Privacy Policy, and Congregant Privacy Policy.

Unsubscribe (Stop All Messages)

Subscribers to Text2Give can unsubscribe using the keyword STOP. A final confirmation message will be sent to the subscriber, confirming their opt-out. The subscriber’s phone number will be added to a blocked list and no more messages will be sent.

Note: Opting out of Text2Give does not remove a donor’s information, donation history, or payment methods from a church’s database. This information can be managed by the donor by logging into their donor account at ChurchCenter.com or using the Church Center mobile app. Donors can also get in contact with their church directly.

Message Frequency

Text2Give is an interactive SMS program that responds to the messages sent by the subscribers themselves. Typically, only one message is sent in response to a message received. In some cases, two messages may be sent.
